Bringing Design Thinking to Affordable Medical Technology

D-Rev is a nonprofit medical device company designing and delivering affordable products to vulnerable populations in more than 50 countries. CEO Krista Donaldson explains how she and her team use systems thinking to design products. She also discusses the importance of designing products with impact in mind. “We’re an impact driven organization,” she says, “we want to be able to have our products assess themselves.” For her work, Donaldson was selected as a 2016 GLG Social Impact Fellow. She sits down with GLG to discuss D-Rev’s successful products targeting newborn health and amputees, how the organization determines which projects to undertake, and the lives D-Rev devices have changed.
